My five year old daughter Eden has been Bat Girl for the past five days now. She pulled out her Halloween costume from two years ago, but it doesn't stop there. Almost as if the little shiny black and yellow suit really has super powers, she has been transformed into a Super Hero! Running, then stopping quick, putting her dukes up with a jerk and quickly looking in every direction; leaping with her kick leg and her fist shooting forward; rolling from behind the couch blind to behind the ottoman blind; moving from room to room by sliding her back along walls and around corners.

Yesterday morning, it was confirmed. She has indeed become a Super Hero- for real. From our family room I heard her set her brother straight:

"Your taking up all the air! And I'M the kinda Girl that needs A LOT of air! Now you BETTER get the HECK off my wings or your gonna pay for it!"

Well, she's my real Super Hero anyways. In the middle of a mean divorce and feeling more like giving up than ever, her empowered state of mind has reminded me that I don't really need to get tough, I just need to put on the costume (and that doesn't mean I have to take off my pearls.) and let the transformation take place..."Fake it till you make it" as my dear friend Stefanie keeps telling me.

Super Bat Girl Eden has also inspired me with the knowledge, I do not need to let anyone hold down my wings ever again.

Thank you Baby Girl. It is my fervent prayer that you never forget that about yourself, what "kinda girl" you are, and that you always make sure no one else forgets it either!

Lets Talk About It!

My Robin ~  You inspire me each and every time I read a post of yours!!  As I don't have any children...and going through some things here....I am going to momentarily adopt Eden here!!  She is such a hoot and I love her spirit!  So I am adopting the 'Robin & Eden' spirit here today!!    You are in my thoughts....and keep me posted on how you are doing!  Much love to you!

Robin, this was awesome. It's amazing how children remind us of what's really important. You are stronger than you think and sometimes we tend to forget that when life seems to keep slapping you in the face. Keep your head up girl and Eden can be my "Batgirl" anytime.

Yes.  My kids inspire me everyday.   I think the biggest thing that my kids have done for me is love me through my imperfections, and although I know there's no way to be a perfect mom, they think I'm the best mom, super mom infact.  Although they think I'm a superhero, they just don't see that they are wearing their own capes and I think that they are my little super heros/aka angels.

Two weeks ago, my kiddo knew I was having a less than stellar day.  She left me this....

This is awesome! GET OFF MY WINGS just may be something I use when I talk to my own negative thoughts - if that make sense. LOL.

My daughter is opposite me. She's not shy. She's very assertive. She's loud. She's confident. She's honest even when it's hurtful. I admire everything about her, even when that mouth of hers gets her in trouble. I refuse to kill her spirit because that is the type of woman I have always wanted to be. Thanks for sharing this.

Thank you Kelly. I have missed our chats. :) And yes, Eden has plenty of spirit to go around!

I didn't know when I posted this this morning just how much I was going to need the kindness and support in your replies tonight. Thank you very much! It was a hard day. The hits just keep coming- but I'm learning to duck and swerve. :)

Robin, you know I've got your back, love you to pieces, and I think you all have capes in your family!!!  This too shall pass.  Here for you, you inspire all of us, and WE MISSED YOU!!!

Thanks Robin. If you ever need to chat...always here or by email.
